ProSkills Courses
Continuing education keeps your license current. HSS ProSkills™ courses do something different — they build the real-world skills that grow careers, strengthen teams, and help practices thrive.
ProSkills is professional development designed for dental teams. Instead of clinical CE, these courses focus on the human side of dentistry: patient communication, practice management, leadership, HR, billing and insurance, personal finances, compliance culture, and the front-desk and patient-experience skills that quietly drive production and reputation.
Who they're for Everyone in the practice — front desk, dental assistants, hygienists, office managers, treatment coordinators, and lab liaisons. Many ProSkills courses are written to be taken as a team, discussed in short huddles, and put to work the next day.
How they work
- 100% online and view-only — read the material at your own pace.
- Revisit any course anytime after purchase.
- A short self-study review reinforces the key ideas (a 75% score completes the course — the same standard as our CE courses).
- Instant access after checkout.
What you earn
- An official HSS ProSkills™ Certificate of Completion — a shareable mark of professional commitment you can show your team, employer, and patients.
- ProSkills™ Rewards points on every course, toward discounts, free courses, and Amazon gift cards.
A note on CE credit ProSkills courses are professional development, and each one shows its credit value. Acceptance of practice management and professional development courses varies by state, so some states may let you apply those hours toward license renewal. Please verify your state's CE requirements before using a course toward renewal.
Why teams love them Affordable, practical, and immediately useful. Better patient conversations mean fewer cancellations and more referrals. Stronger front-desk and billing skills protect the bottom line. And a team that grows together builds a culture patients can feel. That's the ProSkills difference.
Every course you take with Home Study Solutions earns ProSkills™ Rewards points — our way of saying thank you for investing in your skills. The more you learn, the more you unlock.
How you earn points
- Earn 1 point for every $1 spent on courses.
- Every course counts — continuing education and professional development.
- Points are added automatically after each purchase.
- Points never expire.

Getting Started
Ordering is simple:
- From the top menu, open a course library: Lab, Dental, Medical, or Package Savings.
- Click a course title to read its description, objectives, credit hours, and price.
- Click Add to Cart.
- Open your Cart (top-right) and click Checkout.
- Complete payment. Online courses are available immediately after purchase.
Prefer paper? You can add a printed version (additional fee) during checkout. Printed courses ship via USPS and typically arrive within 10 business days.
Log in, then go to Dashboard → My Course List. Every course you've purchased is listed there with its status and options to begin the course, take the test, or print a certificate. You can return any time to continue a course or reprint a certificate.
Taking Courses & Tests
From Dashboard → My Course List, find your course and click Begin Course. The study material opens (a PDF or online reading). Review it at your own pace — there's no time limit, and you won't lose your place if you log out. When you're ready, take the self-study examination.
Tip: PDF course materials can be saved to your device so you can study offline.
When you're ready, open the course from My Course List and click Take the Test. Answer all questions and submit. Your exam is graded automatically and instantly. A score of 75% or higher passes. As soon as you pass, the course status changes to View Certificate, which you can print or download.
Your answers are saved as you go, so if you get disconnected you can return to My Course List, reopen the course, and finish right where you left off.
No problem — there's no penalty for retaking. If your score is below 75%, the system shows your submitted answers with the incorrect ones highlighted in red. Review the material, correct just those answers, and resubmit. You can retake the exam as many times as needed until you pass and the status shows View Certificate.
Yes. If you'd rather not submit online, email your answers to [email protected]. Once they're processed, log in to print your certificate. We don't mail or email certificates — you can reprint them anytime from your dashboard.
The moment you pass (75%+), the course shows View Certificate in My Course List. Click it to print or download. Certificates are always available to reprint from your dashboard, so there's no need to save the file right away.
Credits & Reporting
No. Tennessee requires a portion of your CE to be completed as home-study/textbook-based education rather than web-based/online education. The classification depends on how the instructional material is delivered—not how you submit your test or receive your certificate.
BUT with HSS home-study courses, you study the course material in a textbook or static PDF. You may then submit your answers electronically through our website or by email. Submitting your test electronically does not change the course from home-study to online/web-based education.
Hygienists may take 50% or 15 credit hours online or web based. Non-online courses are limited to 50% or 15 credit hours. Non-online means independent study of textbook or static course material. Submitting your completed answer sheet electronically or online does not change a home-study course into an online/web-based course.
Yes. Home Study Solutions (Florida provider #50-956) automatically reports your successful course completions to CE Broker on your behalf, typically within 7 days of completion.
Automatic reporting applies to licensees in CE Broker states, currently including Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, New Hampshire, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia. As more states join CE Broker, we update our submissions accordingly.
Important: for reporting to succeed, your license type, license number, and license state must be correct on your profile (Dashboard → Profile). A CE Broker subscription is optional for licensees, but it lets you track your requirements and exempts you from manual CE audits.
If you're an AGD member, add your AGD member ID to your profile (Dashboard → Profile). When you complete a course, Home Study Solutions reports your earned credits to the AGD on your behalf, using the course's AGD subject code and credit hours. If no AGD ID is on file, no AGD submission is made — you'll still receive your certificate and can self-report if you wish.
All courses expire two years from the date of purchase. If you haven't completed a course within 2 years, you'll need to re-order it. Because our courses are reviewed and updated regularly, this ensures you always complete the most current version. (HSS reviews or updates every course at least every 2 years, not to exceed 3.)
Packages & Savings
Our AI-Designed Course Builder pairs your license and state requirement with our catalog and creates a course list for you. This course list will satisfy your state requirements up to the permitted number of self-study hours.
Mix and match any courses and save automatically based on the total credit hours in your cart:
- 15+ credits → save 10%
- 20+ credits → save 15%
- 25+ credits → save 20%
There's nothing to enter — the discount is applied automatically and shown in your cart at checkout. Just add courses from any library (Lab, Dental, Medical) until you reach a savings tier.
Ordering for Staff (Linked Accounts)
You can purchase courses and assign them to other people — ideal for a dental office:
- Log in and go to Dashboard → Profile.
- Under Linked Profiles, click Add Linked Profile and enter the person's name and email.
- We email them an invitation. If they already have an account, they simply accept to link. If not, they're prompted to create one.
- Once linked, order your courses, then go to My Course List and Assign each course to a linked person.
- They will receive an email and text letting them know the course was assigned and can begin the course or submit their answers.
- Check the spam/junk folder if the invitation email isn’t received.
Assigned courses appear in your own Dashboard → My Course List, noted as "(assigned by [name])". You take them and print certificates exactly like courses you purchased yourself.
Account & Help
Click Login (top-right) and choose Forgot Password. Enter your email and we'll send a reset code. Your account email is the one you used when you first registered.
Nothing is lost. While ordering: log back in and check My Course List — if the order didn't go through, check your Cart and complete checkout. While testing: your answers are saved automatically; just reopen the course from My Course List and finish your exam.
Satisfaction guaranteed. A full refund (less any shipping & handling) is given for any uncompleted course if all course materials are returned or canceled unused within 14 days.
All modern browsers are supported (Edge, Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Opera), and the site works on phones and tablets. For PDF course materials we recommend a laptop, desktop, or tablet — and Chrome, since Edge has known issues displaying some PDFs. For security, the site can't be accessed from outside North America; if you'll be traveling, save your course PDF to your device beforehand.
