What CE does a Certified Dental Technician (CDT) need?

CDTs are required to complete 12 hours of continuing education each year, including:

• 1 hour of Regulatory Standards

• 6 hours of Scientific credit

• 5 additional hours of qualifying Scientific, Regulatory Standards, Professional Development, or other eligible CE

Examples of courses that may qualify as Scientific credit include:

• Achieving Ideal Tooth Morphology in Dental Restorations

• Dental Laboratory Materials

• Concepts of Occlusion in the Dental Laboratory

• Complete Dentures: From Planning to Problem Solving

• Autoimmune Diseases — Impact on Oral Health

• Clinical Considerations of the Mixed Dentition Period

• Periodontal Disease and Diagnosis

• Other courses of a scientific or dental laboratory technology nature

Other Dental Laboratory courses may qualify toward the remaining general or professional development CE hours, depending on the applicable requirements.
