South Dakota requires dentists to complete 100 hours of continuing education per 5-year licensure cycle (50 of which must be academic), while dental hygienists must complete 75 hours per 5-year cycle. Licenses renew annually (expiring December 31), but CE is measured over the rolling 5-year period. A maximum of 30 hours of home-study (self-study/online) CE is allowed per cycle for both professions. Practice Managment is capped at 10 credtis per 5 year cycle NO CE broker
