Oregon Dental CE Requirements

Renewing your Oregon license soon? Don’t wait until the deadline — knock out your CE today.

Oregon dentists must complete 40 hours of continuing education every two years, and dental hygienists must complete 24 hours (36 hours for Expanded Practice Permit holders) over the same biennial cycle. Renewal is biennial, with dentist licensure years running April 1–March 31 and hygienist years running October 1–September 30. Oregon sets no limit on self-study/online CE, so up to 100% may be completed as home study provided each course includes a passed examination. No Ce broker as of 7/26 DDS and RDH renewal matches the year they were licensed.

Online CE in Oregon: Great for online learners: Oregon places no cap on self-study/home-study CE — correspondence, distance-learning and online courses may satisfy up to 100% of the requirement as long as each course includes an examination the licensee passes. So Home Study Solutions online courses can cover the entire 40-hour dentist requirement or 24-hour hygienist requirement.
