Nevada dentists must complete 40 hours of CE per biennial renewal cycle (20 hours per year) and dental hygienists must complete 30 hours (15 hours per year), renewing biennially with renewals due by June 30. No more than 50% of the total may be done by home study/self-study/online, meaning up to 20 self-study hours for dentists and 15 for hygienists per biennium. Mandatory topics include clinical infection control (4 hours biennial) plus one-time bioterrorism, SBIRT/substance-use, and controlled-substance training requirements.
Licenses renew biennially per NRS 631.330; renewals are due in the Board office on or before June 30, and CE accrues at 20 hours/year for dentists and 15 hours/year for hygienists.
