Course Description:

This course is designed to enhance the health professionals understanding of cultural differences, foster respectful interactions, and promote inclusivity in diverse environments. This course offers a comprehensive exploration of the concept of culture, including its impact on communication, values, traditions, and behaviors across various social, ethnic, and racial groups. Engage with theoretical frameworks, case studies, and real-world examples to develop the skills necessary to navigate and work effectively in multicultural settings, whether in the workplace, healthcare, education, or community development.

Course Objectives

1.Define culture, cultural competence, and diversity, and explain their relevance in various contexts .

2. Identify and analyze cultural differences and how they affect behavior, communication, and decision-making in both personal and professional settings.

3. Create awareness of the impact of cultural diversity in the dental/medical field 

4. Recognize cultural barriers and the potential effects on treating patients. 

5. Learn how to respond and overcome cultural differences.
