Course Description:
Study the CDPA with the new general provisions, scope of practice, licensure renewal requirements, use of dental auxiliaries, prescribing drugs and violating acts in the dental practice. Identify new regulations for California dental healthcare professionals and the 2023 Professional Ethics.
Course Objectives:
1. Gain knowledge relating to new regulations for California dental licensees and permitted duties allowed by such licensees.
2. Learn the utilization and scope of dental auxiliaries and dentists.
3. Review requirements for licensure, continuing education and acts of violation resulting in citations, suspension or revocation.
4. Be able to interpret laws governing prescribing drugs.
5 .Identify signs of child and elder abuse and reporting as mandated by California Law.
5. Gain an understanding of the ADA Principles of Ethics and the Code of Professional Conduct.
6.Review moral and ethical standards for the dental profession.
